don’t delegate thinking
22 Aug, 2026
an observation over the past two years has been that we’ve graduated from talking to friends, family & partners to a chat-box inside an app. we’re all just prompting our wins, qualms, emotions, ideas away.
everybody is always building. how often does it work? i’d bet 90% of the code repositories created by LLMs in the past 2 years never “worked” as imagined. we all have learnt to believe that we’ve got a superpower in our pocket, but most of us refuse to learn how to really use it.
so what goes? a loop. a loop of larp and rot. we start, chat, try it for a few hours, forget to follow up, and we move on to the next start.
why? because brainrot, a crippling addiction to low effort content, has graduated from doom-scrolling instagram, twitter and tiktok to doom-prompting on claude, chatGPT or cursor.
we are brainrotting inside these LLM boxes. i see tons of friends who’ve just stopped thinking. they were very much sharp before; coming up with unique solutions that are a subject of their experiences and knowledge, but for the most part, it’s only AI.
solutions AI proposes to your emotional health, personal life growth constraints, ideas et al, are like cigarette rushes, it makes you feel god for a few minutes and then it just disappears. you’re back to normal, and you need the hit again.
(this is not backed by any data, numbers, and is purely a subjective opinion of the writer).
i ask the reader to stop and think. to learn how to maintain the fine balance of “optimising” with AI, and not delegate your thinking altogether.
your intuition and consiciousness is precious — it’s the only thing seperating you from cats and dogs. and your ability to sharpen your 6th sense is literally e v e r y t h i n g.
you may look good in front of your friends for being at the forefront of everything happening — but wait and strongly ask yourself. are you dumber today than you ever were?
